On the second day of the games, the Turkmen sportswoman Yulduz Jumabayeva won the first medal in the history of Turkmenistan of the Games of the CIS countries, taking second place in the weight category up to 49 kg.
Jumabayeva scored 161 kg in the biathlon, losing 10 kg to the Russian athlete Elizaveta Zhatkina.The third place on the podium was taken by an athlete from Vietnam Thi Ngoc Anh Do, gaining 148 kg in the combined event, according to the website of the Games of the CIS countries.
Turkmenistan for the first time takes part in the Games of the CIS countries, the team arrived in Belarus on August 2. In the tournament, the country is represented by 110 athletes in 13 sports, including Thai boxing, boxing, karate, judo, sambo, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, athletics and weightlifting, men's basketball, shooting and archery.
