Student of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory Jemal Agajanova became a laureate of the First International Competition of Professional Musicians in the string instruments category.
The competition is held from March 1 to April 1 in the city of Nice, France under the auspices of the Italian Association of Culture Melos, positioning its goal as development of international culture in music, dance, fine arts, sharing experience between young artists and educators of different countries, identifying and encouraging talented youth.
Musicians from more than 30 countries, including Italy, Germany, France, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, China, USA and others took part in the creative show remotely. Young violinist of Turkmenistan Jemal Agajanova adequately represented her country in this company. The piano part in her performance was performed by international competitions winner Stella Faramazova.
This year marks the 265th year of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, so my teacher and I decided to present one of his most famous works to the competition. This is Violin Concerto No. 5 with orchestra in A major, its first movement Allegro aperto, said Jemal in an interview with ORIENT.
The work is considered rather difficult to perform. Indeed, it is difficult to reproduce the elegant style of genius Mozart in the context of the musical culture traditions of that time, the 18th century, but I tried to convey exactly this…
And the jury, composed of 17 members from among famous musicians of different countries, appreciated the efforts and expressiveness of the Turkmen violin player. Jemal Agajanova won the second prize in this competition.
I wanted to show all my capabilities that I now have thanks to my mentors. And I attribute my success, first of all, to their service, the girl says.
Jemal Agajanova graduated from the secondary special music boarding school at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva, where her violin teacher was a talented educator Maral Cherkezova.
Maral Byashimovna taught me not only the technical subtleties of performance, but she also taught me to feel the music, put my soul into playing the violin, and behave on stage, for which I am very grateful to her, Jemal went on.
Now she is a student at the conservatory, in the class of teacher Alana Abaeva.
Success in Nice is already the second achievement of Jemal Agajanova at the international level. The first such achievement was the participation in the 9th International Online Competition for Young Performers of Classical Music among the countries of the Islamic world. It was held the city of Baku, Azerbaijan in September 2020, when Jemal became a third-degree laureate.
The girl actively participates in the concert life of the alma mater, performs the violin part in the TNC chamber orchestra “Inspiration” under the direction of Dovlet Okdirov, and is also a member of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the direction of Rasul Klychev, combining study and practice, gaining experience from senior colleagues.
Competitions such as the Nice International Music Competition, where Jemal became the vice-winner, are a great opportunity for a new generation of the online era musicians to declare themselves and take their first steps towards a brilliant career.
