Nine skaters from the Turkmen club team “Maral” took part in the first Global Skating Academy tournament, held October 27-29 in Tashkent.
The Turkmen club was represented in different age groups of competitions organized in accordance with international standards and requirements. Moreover, in the older age category, the tournament participants performed two programs - short and free.
Figure skaters from Turkmenistan showed a high level of skating and won medals and prizes. Thus, Rahman Hojamkuliev (coach Karina Movsesyan) was awarded a medal in his age category among boys.
The jury and audience warmly welcomed the dance “Oriental Fantasy” by the talented Polina Melihova (coach Yana Vakhitova), which was based on the work of the same name by composer Aylar Saparmuradova.
Compositionally and emotionally following the music, Polina, in the plasticity of the original dance, was able to reveal the main idea of the composition - to show the beauty of her native land, the national cultural heritage.
The ice harmony of oriental music and dance earned applause from connoisseurs and fans of the art of figure skating.
As the choreographer - Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Lyalya Kadyrovna Altyeva, who participated in the preparation of bright sports dances, told the correspondent of Turkmenportal, all the guys responsibly prepared for the competition, showing extraordinary perseverance and efficiency, and the performance at the Tashkent ice arena among more than a hundred figure skaters from 21 clubs from different countries was It’s a new incentive for them to continue figure skating and achieve results.
Let us recall that this year Turkmen figure skaters also performed in the 2nd Winter International Sports Games “Children of Asia”, held from February 23 to March 5, 2023 in Russia.
