Today, the final conference of the European Union Project “Support to Further Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Turkmenistan SARD III” was held at the Yildiz Hotel in Ashgabat.
The project is aimed at stimulating small and medium-sized businesses in the agricultural sector, introducing international standards and advanced technologies in accordance with the Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025.
In the context of the agro-food industry, particularly fruits and vegetables in Turkmenistan, the export of cultivated crops is part of the long-term plan for this sector.
Turkmenistan has declared its attempts not only to become self-sufficient in the production of agro-food products and in this process to reduce its dependence on food imports, but also to develop and build a sustainable export agro-food industry.

During the event, there was made an overview of the activities and achievements in the program implementation for the period from September 2016 to nowadays. The conference participants noted the successful results, achieved by the SARD III Project over the entire period of its existence in Turkmenistan.
International experts in each of the areas provided recommendations for further application of the experience, gained in the framework of the project.
For the event participants being present directly at the Yildiz Metropolitan Hotel, it was organized an exhibition of photos, taken with representatives of the agricultural sector of Turkmenistan in the framework of the project. The exposition contains images taken since the fall of 2016.
All conference participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the printing products, published within the project and used during trainings and events.
