On the eve of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, Yerevan State University took the initiative to create a Center for Turkmen language, history and culture of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly Fragi on the basis of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
As the head of the Department of Turkology at Yerevan State University, Professor Alexander Safaryan, reported on the pages of the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, the new center will give a powerful impetus to Turkmen studies and connections between Armenian and Turkmen fellow writers.
According to Safaryan, the Center for Turkmen Language, History and Culture named after Magtymguly Fragi will be created within the framework of long-term cooperation between Yerevan State University and Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
In the coming 2024, new scientific works dedicated to Magtymguly Fragi and translations of his works into different languages of the world will be published in Armenia.Of course, mutually beneficial cooperation between Armenia and Turkmenistan, especially in the scientific field, will continue to bring fruitful results in the form of new scientific publications and new collections of translations, the Armenian professor emphasized.
Let us remind that it was previously reported that 2024 in Turkmenistan was proclaimed the year of “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi”.
