A workshop on capacity building and institutional development of personnel of organizations involved in disaster risk reduction (RDR) activities was held in Ashgabat. The seminar summarized a series of thematic events on this topic, according to ashgabat.in.
The seminar was attended by about 20 representatives of government and public organizations.
The event was organized by the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan SPNT and the USAID Governance Support Program in Turkmenistan (GSP). Similar seminars were held in all regions of Turkmenistan during the second half of the year.
As a result, about 100 national DRR experts increased their knowledge in the field of risk reduction in the event of natural and man-made disasters, as well as familiarized themselves with international experience and applied measures for the prevention and management of disasters.
Within the framework of the seminar, the following speakers spoke: Deputy Head of the Department SPNT in the Ahal velayat Garayev Merdan, employee of the fire safety department of the Ahal velayat Gurbanmammet Silgeldiyev, specialist in the field of waste management of the UNDP project Jemal Durdykova, representative of the SPNT enterprise "Tebigi Kuvvat" Timur Aliyev, biology teacher of secondary school № 14 "Ak Bugday" etrap of the Ahal velayat Mashad Mashadov, employee of the Civil Defense and Rescue Department of the Ahal velayat of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan Batyr Allagulyev, chairman of the “Agama” Alpine Club Valery Kotvin, head of the SO “Yeňme” Gulya Choreklieva.
As a result of all 5 thematic seminars held during the year, in all velayats, the first Information Guide of the territories of Turkmenistan vulnerable to natural disasters will be developed. The publication will be distributed among all interested organizations and departments, the source said.
