Working Group on Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO established

Earlier, we reported that Turkmenistan received the status of the acceding country to the World Trade Organization (WTO), in accordance with Article XII of the Marrakesh Agreement on the WTO establishing. This decision was made during the WTO General Council today.

Welcoming the initiative of Turkmenistan to join the WTO, the Director General of the WTO, as well as countries such as the Mongolian People's Republic, expressed support on its own behalf and on behalf of the Landlocked developing countries (LLDC), the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Turkey, the United States of America, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Panama, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of India, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Delegation of the European Union, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Cameroon on its own behalf and on behalf of the African Group, the Republic of Chad, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Singapore, Jamaica and the Kingdom of Cambodia.

In connection with receiving the status of the acceding country to the WTO and in accordance with the rules of procedures of the Organization, a Working Group on Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO was established, according to a Press Release from the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva.
