Worker engaged in the construction of a white yurt dies in Turkmenabat

9 June, 2021

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that a worker engaged in the construction works to build the White Yurt died in Turkmenabad on 5 June, 2021.

Pursuant to the resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov as of 30 November 2018, the construction of the yurt was scheduled to be completed this month.

Because of tight deadlines as well as a potential visit of the head of state to the region, construction works were carried out in two shifts (from 8 a.m.

to 12 p.m.) despite a 45 degrees summer heat.

On 4 June, 2021 a 40 year old worker lost consciousness at the construction site. He was admitted to a general hospital of Turkmenabad. The man was diagnosed with a heart attack but healthcare practitioners were unable to provide qualified medical help. He died the next day.
