Famous actor Wesley Snipes, famous for his role as Blade, entered the Guinness Book of Records. He became the title holder of the actor with the longest career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Film.ru reports citing THR.
Snipes first played the role of Blade in 1998. More than a quarter of a century later, he again embodied this image in a cameo for the film Deadpool and Wolverine. With this achievement, Snipes surpassed Hugh Jackman, who has played Wolverine since 2000, as well as Sir Patrick Stewart (Professor X).
In addition, Snipes set another record the longest gap between appearances as a Marvel character, which was almost 20 years. This record was previously held by Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus) 17 years between Spider-Man 2 and No Way Home.
Meanwhile, Marvel is preparing a new version of Blade with Mahershala Ali. The premiere is scheduled for fall 2025, although the project is still in development. Snipes himself is somewhat skeptical about this reboot.
