WCO Considers Turkmen Customs Training Center As Regional Hub

While the Turkmen delegation visited Brussels, Belgium, for the 2024 Conference of Customs Administrations of the European Region of the World Customs Organization (WCO), they discussed granting Regional Training Center status to the Training Center at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

As reported by the press service of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on Thursday, representatives of customs services from 53 member states of the European Region of the World Customs Organization participated in the conference.

The conference, attended by the Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization, Jan Sonders, discussed issues related to the modernization of the WCO and the strengthening of customs cooperation at the European regional level, as well as the promotion of e-commerce.

Participants also exchanged views on the reports of the Financial and Control Committees of the WCO and the budget planning for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Turkmenistan became a member of the World Customs Organization in 1993.
