Vladimir Putin took office as President of Russia for the fifth time

Elected as head of state in March 2024, Putin held an inauguration ceremony in the Kremlin today. The official inauguration was held in the Grand Kremlin Palace, RBC reports.

The event was attended by representatives of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government, as well as public figures and representatives of the clergy.

On the way to the place of taking the oath in the St. Andrew's Hall through the St. George and Alexander Halls, where numerous guests had gathered, Vladimir Putin approached the head of the Research Institute of Emergency

Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology Leonid Roshal, who turned 91 on April 27, and shook his hand. Then he kissed 94 years old composer Alexandra Pahmutova.

After taking the oath of allegiance to the people of Russia, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin announced Putin's assumption of the presidency.
