Vladimir Norov approved as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov has been approved as the head of the department, report the press service of the Senate of the Republic.

In accordance with the current legislation of Uzbekistan, candidates for members of the Cabinet of Ministers, ministers, before their appointment to the position, are considered by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

A regular plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis was held today. In it, the deputies considered and approved the candidacy of Vladimir Norov for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev appointed Vladimir Norov acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic in April 2022.

From 2006 to 2010, Vladimir Norov was already the head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan. He also served as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan (20032005, 20102013) and as an ambassador to several European countries.

Let us remind that last month, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov awarded Vladimir Norov with the “Galkynysh” Order.
