December 2, 2022, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan The Academy of Civil Service (ACS) under the President of Turkmenistan in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has launched Turkmenistan’s first mobile application featuring a dictionary with the tri-lingual information and communications technology (ICT) dictionary.
This new application called IT Sözlük is available for download on App Store and Google Play.The English-Russian-Turkmen dictionary is designed for professionals and all those interested in understanding ICT terms in Turkmen language.
The transition to a digital economy is a priority for Turkmenistan’s sustainable development. USAID works with the Turkmen government to bring world-class digital solutions to the country’s public administration. ACS in partnership with the USAID, is building the capacity of qualified specialists for developing digital networks in the country’s public institutions.
The dictionary offers concise and clear definitions of essential ICT terms. In the future, ACS will regularly update the application with new terms and will expand the digital platform to include dictionaries of economic and environmental protection terms.
Academy’s partnership with the USAID contributes to the implementation of digital solutions in line with Turkmenistan’s strategic development programs.The future cooperation envisions conducting short-term professional development courses for the heads of ICT departments of the country’s ministries, agencies, regional and district local governments.
This partnership brings international best practices and high-quality reference material to the Academy’s students and civil servants, as well as supports greater efficiency in public services in Turkmenistan.
The USAID-funded Governance Support Program, implemented by the QED Group LLC, in partnership with the government of Turkmenistan, aims to strengthen accountability, effectiveness, and transparency of governance in the country.
