In the Gatorland reptile park in Florida, a white alligator was born in captivity for the first time, writes 5-tv.ru.
Alligators with leucism are a special mutation that causes partial loss of pigmentation in the outer integument. There are only eight such individuals in the world.
Such cubs do not survive in the wild, but park workers surrounded the baby with care from the first minutes. The white alligator has already become a local star and actively takes part in photo shoots.
Later, when the alligator grows up, he will be housed with other normal-colored brothers. In the meantime, visitors to the Gatorland park are invited to choose a name for the baby.
