UNICEF urges to rethink the future for each child in the post-pandemic world

On the occasion of Universal Children’s Day which is marked annually on November 20, in Ashkhabad a videoconference devoted to issues of education, social protection, child care and public health services took place. During the online meeting the program of partnership of UNICEF developed for 2021-2025 was discussed.

The action organised in partnership with Institute of State, Right and Democracy, collected all partners of UNICEF in Turkmenistan to sum up joint achievements of 2020 in realisation of the rights of children.

Developing upon the results of the work reached in 2020 for the participants of the videoconference, representatives of various ministries and departments of Turkmenistan presented the detailed review of the programs implemented in the country aimed at development of the growing generation.

Universal Children’s Day in 2020 is marked in the entirely different world noted by global crisis which all of us have faced: coronavirus pandemic.How the world and we in Turkmenistan now react to numerous risks which the pandemic presents for children and teenagers, will define their future, told in her speech the representative of UNICEF in Turkmenistan Christine Weigand.

She also noted that the successful implementation by the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan the next sixth round of Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS-6) in 2019.

The data received as a result of poll within the limits of global program MICS, allows the countries to watch progress in achievement of the sustainable development goals and other international obligations, and also integrate them in programs and national plans for development.

Partners and UNICEF in Turkmenistan could achieve notable results in the field of public health services, education, social protection, data and information education.Just a couple of weeks back Turkmenistan has submitted the next periodic national report to the Committee on the Rights of the Child that testifies to adherence of Turkmenistan of the Convention on the rights of the child.

On the Universal Children’s Day each kid of the planet we wish warmth and happiness. Let the small person is surrounded only with loving and devoted people. If in the heart of each child prevails peace and respect, perhaps, all over the world in the future there will be less injustice and cruelty.

Children our continuation, our application for eternal life. We put our souls in them, we give them our love. On the Universal Children’s Day we wish each family peace and mutual respect and peaceful sky!
