UNICEF donated 200 000 USD worth of surgical masks to the Ministry of Healthcare of Turkmenistan

618 250 surgical masks were delivered to Turkmenistan as part of UNICEF support to the Government of Turkmenistan in the implementation of the Country Preparedness and Response Plan for Acute Infectious Diseases. Surgical masks in the amount of 200 000 USD were donated to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan for further distribution to medical facilities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, UNICEF has supported Turkmenistan by purchasing and delivering the necessary medical equipment and hygiene items. To date, UNICEF support includes the supply of oxygen concentrators and related consumables for children and adults, pediatric blood pressure monitors for clinics, liquid soap and hand sanitizer dispensers, biohazard bags and boxes for safe waste disposal.
