Electrosurgical equipment and aspirators for emergency obstetric care were transferred to the production association “Medtekhnika” by the Representative Office of the United Nations Population Fund in Turkmenistan. This was reported on UNFPA social networks.
This procurement was carried out by UNFPA with funding from the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.
Doctors and midwives are trained on UNFPA-supplied simulation equipment.
In 2012, standards for the provision of emergency obstetric care were introduced in Turkmenistan, which are regularly updated.
