UNDP in Ashgabat held a meeting with student youth

On the eve of World Environment Day, UNDP in Turkmenistan held a meeting with the country’s student youth.

At the meeting, which took place at the UN building in Ashgabat, UNDP specialists discussed topics such as the role of the younger generation in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and combating the climate crisis, creating more sustainable cities, smart consumption and waste management.

Specialists from the UNDP Sustainable Cities project briefed the meeting participants on the results of the project to introduce innovative technologies for energy efficiency in the electricity industry.

The meeting was organized as part of a series of Educational sessions #TurkmenYouth4SDGs launched by UNDP in Turkmenistan together with the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in order to involve the country’s student youth in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
