UNDP held workshops with the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan on the implementation of the Paris Principles

Today, a series of seminars on the principles of interaction between national human rights institutions and government agencies and public organizations, as well as the legal mandate of the Ombudsman in accordance with the UN Paris Principles, concluded in Ashgabat.

Previously, such seminars were held in Dashoguz, Mary, Lebap and Balkan velayats.

The seminars were held as part of a joint project of the Ombudsman's Office and UNDP in Turkmenistan entitled "Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Ombudsman's Office".The participants were representatives of regional branches of military and law enforcement agencies, relevant ministries, regional hakimliks, bar associations, youth and women's organizations, as well as the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
