Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has appointed a new Vice President, reported the UAE News Agency.
With the approval of the Federal National Council, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday issued a decree appointing his brother Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Vice President. In this position, he will act alongside Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
With the appointment of a new vice president, the head of the UAE will have two deputies at once.
Previously, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan served as Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of the Presidential Court.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born on November 21, 1970 in Abu Dhabi, where he studied at school, after which he continued his education in the United States, in 1993 he received a bachelor's degree in international relations.
In 2004, he was appointed Minister of Presidential Affairs, in 2006 Chairman of the Ministerial Development Council, and in 2007 the Emirates Investment Authority.
Sheikh Mansour is also the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, a member of the Abu Dhabi Supreme Petroleum Council and is a member of the boards of directors of many investment organizations.
In May 2009, during the formation of a new cabinet, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan was appointed Deputy Prime Minister, in July 2022 - Minister of the Presidential Court in accordance with the decree of the President of the UAE.
