U.S. Commends Turkmenistan's Environmental Achievements

The United States commended Turkmenistan for its progress in meeting international climate commitments since the country joined the Global Methane Pledge.

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Jeffrey Pyatt made this statement during an online meeting with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Pyatt highlighted the successful collaboration with companies Tetrotech and Deloitte on environmental projects.

As diplomats prepare for the UN climate summit COP29 in Baku, they discussed key agenda items for the event. They also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, energy, and transportation logistics.

At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen their collaboration in combating climate change and in other areas of mutual interest
