Typhoon Talim hits southern China

Typhoon Talim hit the southeast coast of China, Xinhua news agency reported.

The most affected regions of the country are Guangdong and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the typhoon is also expected to bring heavy rains and thunderstorms to Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu and Chongqing.

In the affected areas, 230 000 residents were evacuated, hundreds of flights were canceled, trains do not run, and fishing vessels were also withdrawn from flights. The Chinese authorities are also preparing to deal with floods that may follow the typhoon.
