The Chinese technology hub of Shenzhen hosted a light show that made history with two world records. On September 26, the sky above the city was illuminated by the light of more than 10 000 drones, Mail.ru reports.

The highlight of the show was the synchronized performance of 7 598 drones, all controlled by a single computer. This part of the show set a new world record for the number of drones flying simultaneously under central control.

The culmination was the formation of a majestic image of a tiger against a cliff, which remained motionless for 37 seconds, which was also recorded as a record for duration.

The event, which was held under the theme “City of Heaven”, featured not only the image of the tiger, but also other impressive light installations.

Shenzhen, known as the “drone capital of the world”, has once again proven its status. According to the local transport bureau, the city recorded over 600 000 drone flights in 2023 alone, demonstrating the massive development of the drone industry in the region.
