Two-day training on media literacy completed in Ashgabat

A training session on media literacy was held in Ashgabat on October 19-20. The event was organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.

The experts at the training were Nadezhda Gogu from Moldova and Gegham Vardanyan, a media expert from Armenia.

Representatives of the media of Turkmenistan, employees of the Bar Association, the Supreme Court, and representatives of the Ombudsman’s Office took part in the training.

The training discussed topics of media literacy, journalism standards, types of media content, basic tools and forms of fact-checking.

The training participants gained knowledge on how to critically evaluate information, recognize manipulation and disinformation, and create their own media products.

Nadezhda Gogu noted that in the modern world, media literacy is an important skill for every person.

The training participants thanked the organizers for the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills.

The organizers plan to conduct similar trainings for a wider audience in the future.
