TURKSOY Elects New Secretary General

Candidate of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultan Raev was elected the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY). The decision was made at an extraordinary meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council held in Turkey’s Bursa city on Thursday.

Previously, Sultan Raev served as Minister of Culture and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan and Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, the official Turkmen media reports, citing the press service of the TURKSOY.

The extraordinary meeting was chaired by the temporary coordinator of the TURKSOY Permanent Council, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

The Turkmen Delegation consisting of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Turkey Ishanguly Amanliyev and the Minister of Culture Atageldy Shamyradov participated at the gathering.

TURKSOY is an international organization focused on research, development, preservation and transfer of the culture, language, history, art, traditions and customs of the Turkic peoples to future generations.
