The international online conference “Turkmentel-2020” brought together representatives of institutions and companies in the field of communications, scientists, experts, university students and journalists. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan became its main platform in Ashgabat.
This year the Turkmentel conference is attended by 31 speakers and about 300 delegates from 21 countries of the world, including: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Monaco, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, UK and USA.
The Turkmen delegation at the forum was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Bayramgeldi Ovezov.The keynote speakers included Chairman of the Agency “Turkmenvyaz” Hadzhimyrat Hudaygulyev, General Director of SJSC “Turkmentelekom” Hodzhaniyaz Avganov, Director for Information Technologies and Technical Management of CJSC “Altyn Asyr” Vitaly Pastushenko, General Director of CJSC “Turkmen Hemrasy” Batyr Orazdurdyev of “Turkmensvyaz” agency Ashir Garayev, rector of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, Nurnepes Kuliev.
Among the international VIP guests this year, Houlin Zhao is the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, Nurudin Mukhitdinov is the Director General of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications, Luis Jorge Romero is the Director General of the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI), Elmir Tofig oglu Velizade is the Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and high technologies of Azerbaijan as well as representative delegations of top communication and IT companies from Afghanistan, Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
Among the permanent participants, we should highlight representatives of the world-famous NOKIA, Huawei Tech Investment Co., SSI Monaco, Thales, Afghan Wireless, Airbus, Delta Telecom Ltd, Rostelecom, Eastwind, Azertelecom and many others. Among the forum delegates who have joined the discussions remotely are the volume managers of Airbus, Eastwind, ESOA, etc.
The program of the first day of the conference consisted of two sessions: “Digitalization of the economy a new direction of economic development of Turkmenistan” and “The importance of the satellite system and best practices”, where speakers discussed such topical issues as a safe and reliable world, the pace and future of satellite communications, etc.
Hadzhimyrat Hudaigulyev, chairman of the agency “Turkmensvyaz”, acting as the main organizer of the forum, making a presentation, noted that the development of a national telecommunication system that meets international standards and ensures high quality of information exchange is becoming increasingly important for Turkmenistan.
Agency “Turkmensvyaz” implements the state policy in the field of communications, and also regulates and controls work in this area. As part of its mission, the agency works in areas such as local and cellular communications, the Internet, postal services, the digital economy, cybersecurity, satellite communications, national television and radio broadcasting, as well as specialist training.
During the online event, the importance of five international fiber-optic communication networks was emphasized: Ashgabat-Badjygyran (Iran), Serhetabat-Herat (Afghanistan), Imamnazar-Akina (Afghanistan), Turkmenabat-Bukhara (Uzbekistan) and Karabogaz-Fetisov (Kazakhstan), as well as the creation of IT platforms that contribute to the development of the country’s information technology sector.
Digitalization is a system of economic, social and cultural relations based on the use of digital information and communication technologies (ICT) and the further development of modern society cannot be imagined without ICT, which confirms the formation of a new phase of social development.
The future of the forum program provides for discussion of such topics as “Development of local and cellular telephone communications”, “Cybersecurity in the developing digital world”.
Participants will be able to familiarize themselves with new types of digital services, improving the efficiency of wireless communications, data processing centers, cybersecurity, etc. The issues of creating a unified national communication system, increasing requirements for digitalization and many other important topics for the industry will be considered.
