The Turkmenistan women's futsal team learned its opponents for the 2025 Asian Cup qualifying round. Following the draw held at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, the Turkmen team was placed in group “C”, where it will play against Uzbekistan, Australia, the Philippines and Kuwait, FFT reports.
The qualifying matches of this group will be held from January 11 to 19, 2025 in Uzbekistan. The two best teams from each group, as well as the team with the best result among those who took third place, will advance to the final stage of the tournament.
It is worth noting that China, as the host country, as well as Iran and Japan, as finalists of the 2018 tournament, are exempt from participating in the qualifying stage. The final tournament of the Asian Futsal Cup will be held in China in May 2025. The top three teams will qualify to represent Asia at the first-ever Women's Futsal World Cup, which will be held in the Philippines in the second half of next year.
