Turkmenistan Will Send Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan

Turkmenistan is set to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan in May 2023 with the help of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, the official Turkmen media reported on Sunday.

President Berdimuhamedov signed the order to this effect in keeping with the ancient humanitarian traditions and principles of the Turkmen people and to continue the positive experience of noble humanitarian work.

The order instructs the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Ministry of Textile Industry to donate appropriate medicines, medical supplies, goods, and food products as humanitarian aid. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to organize the dispatch and transfer of the aid.

The President also signed an order to provide medical and consulting assistance to the recently built maternity hospital in the village of Turgundi in the Herat province of Afghanistan.

According to the document, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry are instructed to ensure the shipment of humanitarian aid as prescribed.
