Turkmenistan will purchase buses and taxis with a cashless payment system and GPS | Glonass

Turkmenistan will purchase medium and small buses with a cashless payment system and GPS | Glonass. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave a corresponding instruction to the chairman of “Turkmenavtotransport” agency G. Akmammedov during a working meeting on the development of the transport and communication complex.

To provide high-quality services to passengers of city and suburban buses, the head of state also demanded to ensure the timely commissioning of modern bus stations under construction in the Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats.

“It is necessary to continue international cooperation in the development of transit routes through our country by further increasing the volume of goods transported by road,” President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said and gave a number of instructions in this regard, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

According to the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the Agency and stated the presence of a number of shortcomings, stressing the need for continuous improvement of activities for the development of the sphere, study and implementation of advanced international experience in the field of cargo transportation.

“The transport strategy of Turkmenistan, the expanding trade and economic contacts of our country presuppose the implementation of a whole range of works to ensure compliance with norms and standards in this area,” the head of state said.
