Turkmenistan will join TRACECA in autumn 2023

In the autumn of 2023, Turkmenistan will join TRACECA - an international cooperation program between the European Union and partner countries to organize the “Europe-Caucasus-Asia” transport corridor.

This was reported by Trend with reference to the words of the Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA Asset Asavbayev. In particular, the Secretary General said that from a legal point of view, the work on the country's accession has been completed.

A. Asavbayev also stressed that by joining TRACECA, Turkmenistan will be able to accelerate the development of its transport sector, as well as the processes of digitalization of freight traffic. In addition, the country will receive simplified access to 13 TRACECA member countries.

Earlier, we reported that speaking at the international transport forum in Ashgabat, A. Asavbayev said that, for its part, the TRACECA Permanent Secretariat is ready to provide the necessary support to Turkmenistan.
