1.Turkmenistan will take a number of measures aimed at deepening cooperation with the United Nations.In particular, in the first quarter of 2024, Turkmenistan, together with specialized UN structures, will begin preparing a new Cooperation Framework for 2026-2030, a Roadmap for solving problems arising from the documents of the COP-28 climate conference and an Action Plan for the prevention and adaptation to change climate for 2024.
2.The first solo concert of Iranian rap artist of Turkmen origin Emin Rasen was held in Ashgabat on the eve of the New Year celebrations.Before the speech, Rasen excitedly thanked the hospitable people of Turkmenistan for the warm welcome in the capital, noting the cozy atmosphere, cleanliness and beauty of Ashgabat, as well as the hospitality and kindness of the local residents.
3. A competition will be organized in Turkmenistan to develop projects of commemorative postage stamps on the occasion of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi. The competition is organized in order to popularize the significance of events widely held around the world in honor of the anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker.
4. The “Roscongress” Foundation and a number of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan have completed the implementation of the information and educational project “Enchanting Turkmenistan”. Within the framework of the project, 13 Turkmen students completed an internship at the Foundation. They prepared more than 50 articles about the culture, traditions, cities, historical figures and attractions of Turkmenistan.
5.The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty held a meeting at which the results of the work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for assisting children in need of care for 2023 were summed up.
As noted, at the expense of the Foundation, 260 operations were carried out throughout the country, of which: 117 for the treatment of pathologies of the cardiovascular system, 102 for diseases of the musculoskeletal system, and other operations were also performed. 47 children underwent medical and preventive examinations.
At the Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, 212 children underwent comprehensive health and rehabilitation treatment.

6.Tokyo Tower, one of the Japanese capital's most recognizable landmarks, celebrates the 65th anniversary of its opening.The tower was built in 1958 and was for a long time the tallest structure in Japan until it was overtaken by the new Tokyo Skytree in 2012.
Tokyo Tower is 333 meters high and is a popular tourist attraction.About 2,5-3 million people visit it annually.Its observation deck offers panoramic views of the city.
To celebrate the tower's 65th anniversary, Tokyo is hosting various events, including a festival of light and music.
7.A multiplication table that is 2300 years old has been discovered in China.A tablet with hieroglyphs was found in the city of Jingzhou, located in Henan Province.
It contains the following examples of multiplication: five times seven equals 35, four times seven equals 28, three times seven equals 21.According to archaeologists, these symbols are about 100 years older than another similar multiplication table previously discovered in Hunan Province.

8.The winner of the Turkmenistan Football Cup has been determined.The decisive match between “Ahal” and “Arkadag” was held at a 10 thousand seat stadium in a city of national significance and ended in victory for Vladimir Bayramov’s team with a score of 3:0.
In the 29th minute, “Arkadag” defender Abdy Bashimov opened the scoring.At the very beginning of the second half, Bashimov scored a double.The final score of the match was set in the 68th minute, when Ilya Tamurkin hit the “Ahal” goal.
This victory was a fitting end to an impressive season for “Arkadag”.In its debut year, the team achieved a golden double, winning, after the Higher League, the Turkmenistan Cup.
9.The International Kurash Federation recognized the World Championship in Ashgabat as the best competition of the outgoing year. “The 14th World Kurash Championship, held in Ashgabat from November 23 to 28, was one of the best championships in the history of world championships in this type of wrestling.
More than 500 people from about 50 countries took part in the competition.The government of Turkmenistan has made every effort to organize and conduct the tournament at the highest level”, the statement says.
Let us remind that following a tense struggle, the Turkmenistan national team showed an excellent result, winning the largest number of awards.Turkmen athletes won 5 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals.
