Turkmenistan will develop an Olympic plan for the development of gymnastics for 2025-2028

The Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan, together with international experts, is starting to develop a large-scale plan to prepare athletes for the next Olympic cycle. This was announced by the Chairman of the Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan Dovran Chagylov on the eve of his participation in the Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation, which will be held from October 22 to 24 in Doha, the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper reports.

The plan will cover the period 2025-2028 and will include comprehensive training of national teams in artistic, rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatics. To implement it, the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) will send a group of highly qualified specialists to Turkmenistan who will improve the qualifications of local coaches and judges.

The decision to expand cooperation was made following the recent visit to Ashgabat by the heads of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the Asian Gymnastics Union in September this year. Subsequent discussions on the details of cooperation took place at the AGU meeting in Shanghai.

Preparations for the implementation of the new plan have already begun: Turkmen gymnasts, led by the team’s head coach Fiza Ayvazova, recently completed a three-week training camp in Tashkent, where they worked on new performance techniques and participated in friendly competitions.

The next major event in the Turkmen gymnastics calendar will be the November national championship among juniors under 15 years old, where medals will be awarded in competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, as well as acrobatics.
