Turkmenistan will conclude an additional agreement with PJSC “Tatneft” to increase the flow rate of oil wells in Goturdepe

Negotiations were held on the conclusion of an Additional Agreement to the agreement between the State Concern "Turkmennebit" and the Russian Public Joint Stock Company "Tatneft" to provide services in increasing the flow rate of oil wells at the Goturdepe field.

This was announced at a meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan on January 14.

According to the State News Agency of the country, as a result of the steps taken to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation in this direction, relevant agreements have been reached.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, that the further development of the oil and gas industry, which is one of the basic sectors of the economy, and drew attention to the importance of consistent implementation of the country's energy strategy, a thorough analysis of the issue proposed for consideration.

The head of state addressed Vice-premier Shahym Abdrahmanov with specific instructions for the systematic diversification of the fuel and energy complex, strengthening effective cooperation with all interested foreign partners, noting that ensuring the productive work of the oil and gas complex is directly related to the modernization of its infrastructure and the increase in production capacities, the introduction of scientific achievements and innovative technologies.

As a reminder, in January 2021, the State Concern "Turkmennebit" and PJSC "Tatneft" also entered into an additional agreement to carry out service work to increase the flow rate of oil wells at the oil fields of the OGPM "Goturdepenebit".

The Goturdepe oil field was discovered in 2010 in the Balkan province of Turkmenistan.
