The "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" agency held a videoconference meeting with the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan Christine Weigand to discuss the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of communication technologies.
Noting the fruitful nature of the programmes implemented at the state level, the parties discussed the long-term plans on improving the methods of digital education, the social protection system and health care.
The head of the mission spoke about the work carried out by the Foundation, in particular, about the activities on broadcasting social advertising on the prevention of infectious diseases on Turkmen TV channels.
As noted, advice and recommendations on this issue have been developed by medical workers, appropriate joint activities have been established with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry.One of the projects with Closed Joint Stock Company “Altyn asyr” is the systematic mass text messaging of medical advices.
Ms.Weigand also suggested using the Internet to spread knowledge among the population about the rules for protecting their health.The issues of organizing online training sessions were discussed during the meeting.
It was emphasized that due to the Law of Turkmenistan "On electronic documents, electronic document management and digital services" and the Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "On the creation and introduction of an electronic document management system and web sites in Turkmenistan" in all areas, work is carried out to form digital economy, ensure automatization of business processes and management, improve the system of electronic services.
In conclusion, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing the dialogue.According to the meeting participants, the realities of the time highlight the strategic importance of modernizing the communications sector to increase awareness among population.
