Turkmenistan trained 26 trainers on travel document security

A series of trainings were held in Turkmenistan to train national trainers on travel document security. The trainings included training of trainers in the cities of Turkmenabat and Turkmenbashi.

In total, 26 specialists of the border and migration services of Turkmenistan in the Lebap and Balkan velayats were trained.

Organized training by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat in close cooperation with the EU Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA) to provide future trainers with course programs and a compilation of materials for further training of field staff.

The training courses were conducted by two national experts from the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.

The participants got acquainted with the document verification system and international standards and recommendations on technical equipment and document control systems. The classification of forged documents and information on the means of their detection at the border control were presented.

In the course of practical training, future trainers learned to identify the main materials used for the production of documents, and got acquainted with the simulated elements of their technological protection. They discussed the methods and characteristics of personalization, as well as the methodology for checking electronic documents and ways to falsify them, according to an OSCE press release.
