Turkmenistan to Increase Running Passenger Trains’ Frequency Starting Next Month

Starting June 1 in Turkmenistan, the passenger trains will start running on Thursdays and Saturdays in the directions of Turkmenabat-Gazojak and Gazojak-Turkmenabat, Turkmenabat-Amuderya and Amuderya-Turkmenabat, Mary-Serhetabat and Serhetabat-Mary, according to the announcement published on Turkmenistan’s Demiryollary (Railways) OJSC’s website.

The transportation of trains in test mode will be carried out in accordance with the measures taken to prevent the entry and spread of coronavirus infection into the country, according to the announcement.

Demiryollary OJSC will also continue the operation of the previously launched transportation of trains in the directions of Ashgabat-Mary-Turkmenabat on Wednesdays and Fridays, Turkmenabat-Mary-Ashgabat on Thursdays and Saturdays, Ashgabat-Dashoguz on Sundays and Dashoguz-Ashgabat on Mondays.

Starting June 1, special passenger train will also start traveling daily from Turkmenistan’s capital of Ashgabat to Turkmenbashi city and vice versa to transport citizens from Ashgabat and the country's velayats to Avaza National Tourist Zone.
