A total of 30 large industrial and social facilities are expected to open in Turkmenistan this year, five of them have already entered operation in January, Orient news outlet reported on Sunday.
Last month, Turkmenistan launched a gas compressor station at the Malay field in Lebap, the Akina-Andkhoy railway line, the Ymamnazar-Akina and Serhetabat-Turgundi fiber-optic lines, and electricity lines extending from Turkmenistan’s Kerki city to Afghanistan’s Sheberghan city.
The 30 large facilities symbolize 30 years of independence of Turkmenistan. The opening of facilities in the south of Ashgabat is scheduled for April, icluding a new government tribune, an International Congress Center, the Arkadag hotel, the buildings of the Turkmenbashi and Senagat banks. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov regularly inspects progress of their construction.
In May, the new facilities Garagum hotel with a multi-purpose business center and a park located nearby will be opened in the north of the capital.
A new monument to Magtymguly Pyragy in Ashgabat and large concert arenas in the form of a huge Turkmen yurt with 3000 seats each in Dashoguz and Turkmenabat, the airport in Kerki and other facilities are expected to open in June.
The same arena for mass celebrations will open in July in Balkanabat. The Ashgabat-Tejen section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway is also expected to launch the same month. The construction of the highway is carried out by members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
This summer, two large textile complexes will open in Ahal velayat’s Kaka and Babadayhan etraps. A 432 MW gas turbine power plant will be commissioned in the Charjev etrap of Lebap velayat.
The Avaza resort will be replenished with additional cottage complex. Large residential areas with apartment buildings will also appear in Ashgabat and Dashoguz. The first stage of the new administrative center of Ahal velayat, four multidisciplinary and specialized medical institutions in Turkmenbashi and Dashoguz are also expected to be commissioned by the end of the year.

In 2020, 45 large industrial and social facilities with a total value of around $8 billion were commissioned across the country.
