Turkmenistan to combat competitors on the textile market with low prices

On 24 November in the course of the Cabinet session Deputy Prime Minister M. Aidogdyev reported on progress in the textile industry.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that the global textile production currently exceeds demand, which creates acute competition when selling the merchandise. In this connection Aidogdyev announced that the robust pricing, which will ensure competitive advantage of the Turkmen textiles and increase profitability of textile manufacturing facilities, needs to be introduced.

Let us recall that a few major world brands (IKEA, H&M, Wrangler, Lee, Zara) refused to buy cotton and textile goods from Turkmenistan since child and forced labour is used during cotton harvesting campaigns.
