Turkmenistan to Celebrate Eid al-Fitr on April 10

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a Decree "On the Celebration of Oraza Bayram." The national holiday of the Turkmen people, Eid al-Fitr or Oraza Bayram, will be celebrated on April 10, 2024, reported the Türkmenistan newspaper on Tuesday.

The document is adopted with the aim of further strengthening the unity, harmony, and cohesion of the native people, nurturing reverence for age-old traditions and customs, and preserving spiritual wealth.

According to Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan, April 10 will be a non-working day.

All institutions, enterprises, and organizations, regardless of ownership form, are obliged to ensure compliance with this Decree.

Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide and marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
