Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Rashid Meredov will participate in the fifth meeting of foreign ministers of China and Central Asian countries, scheduled for November 30 to December 1 in Chengdu, the administrative center of Sichuan Province in southwestern China, announced Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
Xinhua reported Thursday that the meeting, chaired by Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will bring together the heads of foreign ministries from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
The heads of diplomatic missions from Central Asian countries will discuss key cooperation issues with the Chinese side, including deepening regional interactions and strengthening partnership ties.
The fourth meeting of foreign ministers from China and Central Asian countries took place on April 27 in Xi'an, chaired by Qin Gang, a member of the State Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
