Turkmenistan takes part in the Asian Women's Forum in Samarkand

Today, the Asian Women's Forum began its work in Samarkand on the topic “Regional approach to expanding the economic, social and political rights and opportunities of women”.

As reported on the website of the Mejlis of Uzbekistan, the forum is attended by more than 30 women deputies of parliaments of the countries of East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Central Asia, heads of government, representatives of more than 40 representative offices of foreign countries in Uzbekistan and foreign organizations, about 400 representatives civil society institutions, women leaders, business women, political scientists, social activists, scientists, representatives of economic sectors and various fields and active women.

Turkmenistan is represented by a delegation consisting of the Chairman of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy Bahar Seydova and a member of the Committee on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Bayramgozel Myradova.

After the opening ceremony of the forum, the participants got to work, dividing into parallel sessions to exchange experiences and study modern approaches of international organizations and financial institutions.

The Asian Women's Forum on using the rich potential of women, exchanging experience in realizing their potential in all spheres of society was proposed to be held in Uzbekistan by the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his speech at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
