A glycyrrhizin acid production facility in Turkmenabat, part of the Buyan agro-industrial complex under the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, has started producing a new product—glycyrrhizin acid. This in-demand product opens new opportunities for export and application in various sectors of the economy, according to the Thursday edition of the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the plant uses crushing units from MION & MOSOLE to process liquorice root in two stages, achieving the necessary fractions for extraction. The facility features 54 DELLA TOFFOLA extractors in three sections to extract the active ingredient—glycyrrhizin acid.
In the final stages, workers dry the extract, grind it into a powder, and package it in moisture-resistant bags of 25 kg each.
With a production capacity of 4,500 tons of raw materials per year, the plant can produce up to 390 tons of finished product, creating opportunities for entering external markets.
The facility maintains high standards of quality control. Laboratories equipped with technology from Japan, Germany, and Italy conduct thorough analyses of raw materials and finished products. Specialists assess the content of active substances, moisture levels, and the presence of impurities, ensuring consistent quality that meets international standards.
Glycyrrhizin acid has a wide range of applications. In pharmaceuticals, producers use it as a natural component for medications; in cosmetics, it serves as an ingredient in creams and skin care products; and in the food industry, it acts as a natural sweetener and stabilizer.
Turkmen glycyrrhizin acid stands out for its high concentration of active ingredients, making it competitive in international markets.
