Turkmenistan Starts Drilling 7,300-Meter Deep Well at Uzynada Field

Turkmen state companies started drilling works at 7,300-meter deep well in the Uzanada oil and gas area in the country’s western province of Balkan.

Shahym Abdrakhmanov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government overseeing the country's oil and gas industry, briefed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the measures on development of Uzynada area and expansion of its boundaries during the online cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The drilling works are carried out by the state-run Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) State Concern based on the geological exploration carried out by Türkmengeologiýa (Turkmen Geology) State Corporation.

President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that these activities will serve to realize the significant potential of the domestic oil and gas sector, designed to make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of improving the industrial processing of natural resources in the province. Noting the need to continue exploration works in this area, the Turkmen President gave specific instructions to the Vice-Premier to this end.
