Türkmenenergogurluşyk (Turkmen Energy Construction) Concern of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan started the construction of the second stage of a project to create a ring power transmission system in Turkmenistan, the country’s official media reported on Friday.

The second stage of the construction of the ring system includes the laying of more than 560-kilometer 500 kV power transmission line from the country’s western velayat of Balkan to northern velayat of Dashoguz.

The builders will prepare reinforced concrete foundations and install 1,446 structures for power transmission lines.

Simultaneously with the construction of the power line, the project provides for the installation of power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, relay protection and automation, telemechanics, communications and SCADA systems.

The first stage of a project to create a ring power transmission system in the country, which links electric networks of Ahal and Balkan velayats, was commissioned in August last year.

The construction of Turkmenistan's ring power transmission system along the Ahal-Balkan-Dashoguz route is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
