Turkmenistan, South Korea Explore Prospects For Trade and Economic Cooperation

Representatives from the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the National Assembly of South Korea discussed the future of trade and economic cooperation on Monday, according to official Turkmen media.

The talks were held during the second consultative meeting of parliamentary leaders from Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea, within the C5+1 format.

Key areas of cooperation discussed included transport, energy, high technology, science, education, healthcare, tourism, and addressing climate change and environmental protection.

Both sides emphasized that regular meetings add momentum to the development of interstate relations, with special attention given to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, which play a crucial role in the partnership between the two nations.

On the same day, Ashgabat hosted the second meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and South Korea.
