Turkmenistan shows high GDP growth in the first half of 2023

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamurat Geldimyradov presented a report on the country's macroeconomic indicators for six months of this year at an expanded government meeting held on Friday. This is reported by the State News Agency.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, as a result of the implementation of practical measures, a stable GDP growth rate was achieved in the first half of the year, which amounted to 6.2%.

“The volume of manufactured products increased by 6.2% compared to the same period in 2022,” Geldimyradov said. He also said that over six months, retail trade turnover increased by 9.3%, and foreign trade turnover - by 8%.

“Wages for large and medium-sized enterprises of the country increased by 9.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2022,” the Deputy Prime Minister added, stressing that wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were paid on time and in full.

Minister of Finance and Economy Serdar Joraev reported that in January-June this year, the revenue side of the State Budget of Turkmenistan was executed at the level of 113.1%, and the expenditure side - 97.6%.
