The city of Yoleten in Mary velayat is still experiencing irregular supply of bread and flour.
Starting from 4 a.m.residents start queuing up in front of state-run retail outlets which sell essential groceries at fixed prices.Bread is delivered to the stores once a day and the sale starts at 6 a.m.
with a restriction of one loaf per person. There is not enough bread for all customers, which results in arguments and fights in the queues.
Flour at state prices is not available.
Flour is available at bazaars, but it сosts a fortune – 400 to 500 manats per sack.We have to spend the entire family budget on the most essential and cheapest groceries.
I do not remember when I last bought clothes or household goods, a woman who exited the state-run stores with a loaf of bread told a correspondent of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”.
