Turkmenistan's President Meets With Leaders of Iran, Armenia, and Pakistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held meetings with the Presidents of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, and Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great poet Magtymguly Pyragy, as reported by official Turkmen media on Friday.

During these meetings, the leaders discussed the development of cultural and humanitarian ties, especially in the fields of science, education, healthcare, and sports.

In talks with Masoud Pezeshkian, special emphasis was placed on inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation within international organizations such as the UN and the OIC. Both leaders expressed confidence in further strengthening economic and cultural ties, particularly in the context of trade and economic cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives.

Discussions with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari focused on joint projects like the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline, as well as power transmission and fiber-optic communication lines, highlighting the strategic importance of collaboration between the two countries.

President Khachaturyan of Armenia emphasized the forum’s importance in enhancing cooperation between Armenia and Turkmenistan, with a focus on trade, economic, and transport relations. The role of the Intergovernmental Commission in implementing bilateral projects was also discussed.

At the conclusion of the meetings, the heads of state exchanged well wishes for the well-being of their peoples and the further development of friendly relations based on principles of good neighborliness and brotherhood.
