Turkmenistan’s Major Refinery to Open Its Third Oil Berth

The Vice-Premier of Turkmenistan Shahym Abdrahmanov in a government meeting on Friday reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the ongoing construction of a third oil berth at the Kenar Oil Storage and Loading Enterprise of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR), the Turkmenistan’s flagship oil refinery.

During off-site meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in Avaza National Tourist Zone, the Head of State noted that, in accordance with the Program for the development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan for the period up to 2030, a number of new facilities will be built at the TCOR in the near future, the country’s official media reports.

The Turkmen President noted the importance of increasing the volume of crude oil supplies to the petrochemical complex, ensuring timely shipment of products manufactured by the largest oil refinery in the region to domestic and foreign consumers, and addressed a number of specific instructions in this regard to the Vice-Premier.

The TCOR is the largest enterprise in Turkmenistan. In terms of its scale, it is comparable to the leading oil refining concerns. The TCOR includes two plants, numerous oil depots and filling stations.
