Turkmenistan’s Galkan Clinched International Ice Hockey Tournament Title

The conference hall of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a ceremony honoring the athletes and coaches of the Turkmen hockey team Galkan, as per President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's instructions. They achieved a prize-winning position in the international ice hockey tournament held in Ashgabat from April 15 to 20

Leaders and representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee for Sports and Physical Culture, the Turkmenistan Hockey Federation, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, and sports federations, as well as athletes, coaches, students, youth, and media, attended the event, as reported by Turkmenistan's official media on Sunday.

Following reports, ice hockey clubs from Bahrain, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Russia, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan competed for the main trophy at the Sports Complex for Winter Sports.

In the preliminary stage of the competition, participants were divided into two groups, and the winners of the groups advanced to the final. Teams that took second place competed for the bronze medal.

Turkmenistan’s Galkan and Russia’s ADIHIC-Kazan competed in the final match. The Turkmenistan ice hockey team concluded the tournament with a score of 4:2 in their favor.

The athletes and coaches of the Galkan hockey team, who won a prize at the international ice hockey tournament, were awarded honorary titles of Turkmenistan. They were also presented with diplomas and commemorative gifts on behalf of the Turkmen leader.

To conclude, participants of the event addressed an appreciative message to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
